Karina Silva is a Director of Photography based in Los Angeles. Born in Miami and raised in Madrid, Karina graduated from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, and has established herself as a versatile cinematographer, with extensive experience in the narrative, commercial, and music video spaces.

Karina shot the feature No Man of God for director Amber Sealey, which premiered at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival. The film centers around the complicated relationship that formed between FBI analyst Bill Hagmaier and serial killer Ted Bundy in the mid-1980s. Karina’s work on the film has been spotlighted for its bold and character-driven intimacy and suspense, and was selected for the 2021 EnergaCAMERIMAGE Cinematographer Debuts Competition.

Karina’s additional narrative credits include Beauty Mark for director Harris Doran, which premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and received the Audience Award at the Austin Film Festival; and the short film Elbows Deep for director Catherine Hardwicke, starring Cara Delevingne and produced by the gender equality non-profit We Do It Together.

Karina’s commercial work includes campaigns for AT&T, Walmart, IBM, Ford, Disney, and Toyota, with production companies such as Park Pictures, Division 7, and The Directors Bureau.

Prior to her film career, Karina competed internationally as an Olympic-level diver, holding the record in Spain as the only female diver to win a gold medal at a European championship. Karina’s unique background provides her with a fresh perspective and global awareness as a cinematographer, and she brings the collaborative spirit and tenacity of a world-class athlete to all of her work.
